The first Pharmacy Influenza Immunisation Initiative began in the UK in 2002, supported by NHS Grampian and the firm of Michies the Chemist to complement the existing vaccination service in GP surgeries. A year later it was extended to include a further 5 pharmacies in the Grampian area. A subsequent increase in demand for flu vaccinations has prompted Michies the Chemist to provide clinics at two of their branches - Union Street and Portlethen - as well as the facility for patients to book their own flu jabs either in-store, over the telephone or online. LATEST NEWS FLU VACCINATION JANUARY 2007 If you are eligible for a FREE flu vaccination, by virtue of being over 65 or suffer from chronic respiratory disease, chronic heart disease, chronic renal disease, diabetes or have a weak immune system, please contact your Doctors surgery directly for an appointment.
